Veneers and lumineers are an excellent way to improve the appearance of your teeth and address a variety of issues. These custom-made overlays are indistinguishable from natural teeth and can even help correct the bite.

The main difference between veneers and lumineers is thickness:

· Veneers are slightly thicker (up to 0.6 mm) and usually require tooth preparation.

· Lumineers are thinner (0.2–0.3 mm) and are applied directly to the enamel without grinding.

Veneer and Lumineer Procedure

The process begins with a consultation at UMA CLINIC. During the first visit, you and the dentist will decide:

· Which teeth to restore

· The best shade for your smile

· The type of overlay to use

You can also try temporary trial plates to preview your smile and assess comfort.

Next, the dentist takes an impression of your jaw so that dental technicians can craft overlays that perfectly match your teeth. For veneers, your teeth are prepared and temporary plates are placed during this step.

After 2–3 weeks, your permanent veneers or lumineers are ready. During the second visit, the dentist removes the temporaries and fixes the permanent overlays. They require normal oral care, just like natural teeth.

Note: To ensure a perfect fit, UMA CLINIC uses high-precision equipment both in the lab and during placement.
These overlays are not recommended for children under 16, as they may affect bite development.

Indications for Veneers and Lumineers

Aesthetic indications: irregular tooth shape, discolored enamel, noticeable old fillings, simply achieving a beautiful smile

Functional indications: minor bite defects, chips and cracks, large gaps between teeth, worn-down teeth
